This fixture draws up to 630W on a 100–240V input and dims each channel from the web interface. At full power it puts out roughly 1011 µmol/s from 240 diodes. That works out to about 1.6 µmol/J, lower than modern white-diode bar lights. What you gain instead is control. The C plate mixes 450 nm blue, 660 nm red, 735 nm far red and 5700K white. Each color can be set on its own, so the spectrum changes without touching the hardware. The body is compact at 16.7 x 8.6 x 7.8 in and 17.6 lb, closer to a shoebox than a panel. An internal fan with variable speed handles cooling, so there is no duct to run. An RJ45 Ethernet port serves a built-in web interface for schedules and spectrum settings. Heliospectra rates the diodes at 50,000 hours to L70 and the fixture for up to 40°C ambient.
Where a Tunable Heliospectra LED Grow Light Fits
A heliospectra led grow light makes the most sense where spectrum is the variable you want to control. Research greenhouses use it to test blue-to-red ratios or far-red treatments on one crop. Growers also use it to shift from a blue-heavy veg recipe to a red-heavy flower recipe on the same fixture. Coverage is about a 4x4 ft canopy with the light hung near 18 inches above the plants. Start with a balanced recipe, then change one channel at a time and log the plant response for a week. Heliospectra claims up to 50 percent lighting energy savings against traditional HID. Not every user agrees on yield, though. One grower reported about two thirds of a 600W HPS harvest while still learning the settings. Plants under this light may need lower feed and warmer room air than under HPS. If raw output per dollar matters most, a white bar fixture covers the same space for less.
