HLG 65 V2 Board, Driver and Output

This is HLG's smallest quantum board, the QB120, with 120 Samsung LM301B diodes. It draws 65W and is rated at 152 µmol/s, an efficacy of 2.35 µmol/J. That adds up to about 10,000 lumens of 4000K white light. The board measures 11 x 9.5 x 2 in and weighs about 1.75 lb. A non-dimmable Mean Well driver runs on 120V or 240V and ships with an 8 ft cord. Cooling is passive through the aluminum backing, so the light is silent. It plugs into a standard outlet, and a timer is all the control it needs. HLG compares its output to roughly a 150W T5 or metal halide fixture. At about 65W, it costs only a few dollars a month to run. HLG backs it with a 3-year warranty.

Using a Small Veg LED Grow Light for Clones and Mothers

A veg led grow light this size fits spaces a full fixture cannot, such as a clone shelf, a cabinet or a 2x2 tent. Coverage is about 2 x 2 ft in veg and 2 x 1 ft in flower. Retail guidance puts it 12 to 18 inches above the canopy. Fresh cuttings need less light, so start at the top of that range and lower it once roots show. The cool white spectrum leans slightly blue, which keeps mothers and young plants short and bushy. It will flower a single small plant, but a warmer, stronger light does better through bloom. Because the driver does not dim, adjust intensity by raising or lowering the board. It adds very little heat, so a small tent or cabinet stays near room temperature. Two units side by side cover a 2x4 veg area. For anything bigger than 2x2, step up to the HLG 100 or a larger fixture.
