Types of Storage and Curing Gear

Stainless Vaults and Cure Tubes

CVault containers are 18/10 stainless steel with a latch and silicone gasket. The 8 L holds about a pound and the 21 L about two, and the lid holds humidity packs. Curetube tubes hold 4 to 6 lb, lie on their side for rolling, and read humidity through an outside hygrometer.

Bags and Liners

Dry & Mighty bags stand on a gusseted base and take a heat or vacuum seal. NatureVac rolls and precut bags fit most vacuum sealers, including an aluminum Mylar roll that blocks light. Common Culture Tough Stuff turkey bags and liners run from 18 x 20 in up to 48 x 30 in. More liner sizes cover drums and pallet boxes.

Cure Monitors and Odor-Lock Carry

The Twister Cure Puck reads temperature, humidity and CO2 inside a sealed container and sends the data over WiFi. AWOL backpacks line the shell with activated carbon behind a storm-flap zipper. Twister handling trays and a Revelry duffle round out the range.

How Growers Store a Harvest

Once flower is dry, move it into curing containers and watch the humidity through the first weeks. Oregon State University Extension cites curing at about 64 °F and 60% RH for 14 days, then storage around 45 to 55% RH. Open, or burp, the containers during that first week whenever the reading climbs. Keep sealed stock cool and out of the light.

What size curing container do I need?

Match the container to your batch so there is little empty air inside. CVault rates its 4 L at about 8 oz, the 8 L at about a pound and the 21 L at about two pounds. For bigger loads, a Curetube holds 4 to 6 lb in one tube.

What are turkey bags used for?

They are large, tough bags, often 18 x 20 in, that hold bulk dried material for short-term storage or moving between rooms. Common Culture Tough Stuff bags come in 18 x 20 and 18 x 24 in sizes. Dry & Mighty bags add a zip top and gusset when you need to reseal often.

Do airtight containers keep the smell in?

A good seal is the main defense. CVault lids close on a silicone gasket, Dry & Mighty bags use triple-laminated LDPE, and vacuum bags pull the air out entirely. For carrying, AWOL bags add an activated carbon lining behind a double storm flap over the zipper.
