It's common that the actual RH of your humidor will stabilize up to 5 points lower than the Boveda RH you're using, due to humidor quality and ambient dryness.
Unlike distilled water and PG solutions with sponges/gel/crystals/beads can affect plant materials, flavors of tabacco or cigars or even damage delicate items such as guitars and violins. Boveda's reverse-osmosis membrane only releases pure water vapor and Boveda will never damage anything through direct contact. Take the Boveda ® and place in a CVault, and within 24 to 48 hours your product will be at the PERFECT relative humidity.
When to Replace a Boveda Pak
Boveda Paks are Disposable, You can easily tell when it is time to dispose of the Boveda ®, you will begin to notice a granular feel to the Boveda ®. Once the packet solidifies please replace your Boveda ®;. Then simply insert a new Boveda ® into the specialty designed pak holder of the CVault and you are good to go.
