Lighting for propagation can differ from other forms of indoor grow lights because of the need to give uniform light to as many seedlings or cuttings as possible usually arranged tightly in a grid. T5 fluorescent lights are a common choice due to the longer bulbs and the ability to get plenty of light to many rows of clones or seedlings as they quickly grow up. As LED lights become more popular they may start to replace fluorescents as the desired lighting choice for young plants.
