The active is a plant extract, not a microbe and not a synthetic. Reynoutria sachalinensis, giant knotweed, makes up five percent of the bottle with ninety-five percent other ingredients. What it does is unusual enough to be worth understanding before use. It does not attack the pathogen at all. Instead it triggers the plant's own defence pathways, which ProFarm name as systemic acquired resistance and induced systemic resistance. The plant produces its own antimicrobial compounds in response. Registration is EPA number 84059-3 and the signal word is caution. Re-entry is four hours and the pre-harvest interval is zero days. Rates and Timing Against Powdery Mildew
Label rates are given by dilution rather than by area. Foliar work runs two to four quarts in a hundred gallons of water, which is a half to one percent by volume. As a soil drench the rate is one to three quarts a hundred gallons, or one to two tablespoons a gallon. Soak the medium and the root zone with it. Timing is where this product is won or lost. A defence response takes days to build, so the spray has to go on before the pressure arrives. Used reactively on a heavy infection it will disappoint, and used on a schedule it does what it says. The honest limit is that it is a resistance inducer rather than a curative. Rotate it with something that kills, and treat it as the part of the programme that keeps a clean room clean.
