VineLine 10 ft Trellis Netting on a Full Commercial Roll

This roll of VineLine trellis netting runs 10 ft wide and 3,300 ft long, in white polyethylene with 6 in square openings. The extra width spans wide benches, double rows and high-wire crops in a single run. The strand weighs about 10 gsm, enough body to carry loaded stems over a full season. The full roll comes in at close to 70 lb, so plan on two people or a cart to move it. White mesh stands out against foliage, which makes it easy to see where stems sit as the canopy fills in. Polyethylene shrugs off moisture and nutrient splash and holds up under greenhouse sun. Each square leaves room for a hand to reach through for pruning, scouting and harvest. Growers lay it flat in layers over flowering crops or stretch it vertically for tomatoes, cucumbers and beans. The netting can be cleaned and reused when it comes off intact. With this much length on one roll, a large greenhouse can net many bays before the next roll is needed.

Laying Out 6 Inch Mesh in Layers or Walls

Laid flat, 6 inch mesh works as a scaffold that branches grow up through and lean on. Set posts at the ends and along the length of each bench or bed, roughly every 20 to 25 ft on long runs. Stretch the first layer tight about a foot above the pots, then fasten it to the posts with zip ties. As plants stretch, tuck new tops under the strands and spread them across the squares to even out the canopy. A second layer higher up catches heavy flower sites late in the cycle and keeps stems from folding. For vertical use, run a support cable along the top of the posts and hang the net from it. Vines then climb on their own. Cut the roll with sharp scissors and leave an extra square at each end for tie-off. A sagging net lets heavy stems fold, so re-tighten it after the first few weeks. At harvest, cut stems free and pull the net off in sections. Netting that comes off clean can be rolled and stored for another run. Keep the roll off the floor and out of standing water between crops.
