Systems
As a grower, you are also a system designer—an artist and scientist whose vision can manifest as aquaponics, aeroponics, ebb and flow, deep water culture, drip, rooms, pods, grow boxes, or tents. We carry all you need, allowing unlimited creativity and the ability to experiment with modern technology....
Hydroponic Systems and Kits
Hydroponics means growing without soil, using water instead to provide the valuable nutrients that would normally be present in the soil. Mineral nutrient solutions in water are delivered to the plants’ roots directly or via an inert medium or substrate.
Hydroponic systems come in various types to fit your specific needs and preferences, with each technique having advantages and benefits. We carry complete hydroponic systems and personalized recommendations for every budget and skill level to help maximize your harvest. You’ll also find essential accessories to support all systems.
Aeroponic
An aeroponic system continuously provides nutrients to roots in an environment saturated with a nutrient solution using a mist or fine droplets. With no substrate, the roots are left to grow suspended in nutrient-saturated air, which provides all the oxygen and CO2 the roots need. This method is extremely efficient and promotes optimal plant growth.
Deep Water Culture (DWC)
In a deep water culture, plant roots are suspended in a reservoir solution of nutrient-rich, oxygenated water. The solution is saturated with oxygen by use of an air pump and an airstone or diffuser that emits oxygen-rich bubbles. DWC is excellent for beginners since it's the simplest method of growing in a hydro system and is ideal for producing fresh produce at home.
Ebb and Flow or Flood and Drain
An ebb-and-flow method floods the grow area with the nutrient solution at specific intervals and then drains it back into a reservoir containing the pump on a timer. This type of flood-and-drain hydroponic gardening system is ideal for plants used to alternating periods of dryness and wetness. Our system designs help you create custom workflows.
Top Feed, Drip Systems
A slow feed or drip of nutrient solution is provided to the chosen substrate or medium and then slowly drained back to a reservoir. The solution is pumped back up in a continuous cycle.
A complete drip system would typically use a water/nutrient pump and an air pump to help oxygenate the solution in the reservoir. See all Top Feed Systems. These are often considered the best hydroponic systems for flexibility and automation. Proper advice is key for system success.
Aquaponics Systems
Fish + Plants = aquaponics. An aquaponics system combines hydroponics with aquaculture, such as fish, crayfish, snails, etc. The nutrients come from the byproducts these living organisms provide.
Water circulates from one system to the other, benefiting from both processes. Aquaponics is a great way to grow food naturally while keeping humidity balanced.
Grow Box / Closet Systems
Growing in tight spaces or discreetly requires a well-designed and compact system that provides all the basics, from light to airflow and the hydroponic system itself. Often, these closed systems provide full environmental control with just enough room to grow efficiently.
These days, hydroponic systems come in all shapes and sizes, including grow box systems. Here at Growershouse, we provide complete hydroponic kits as well as just the right parts and pieces for your own hydro systems, backed by solid research support.
