CO2 Controllers, PPM Monitors
Plants use CO2 during photosynthesis, and they thrive on higher CO2 levels than occur naturally in the air. You can change CO2 levels by installing monitors and controllers. With the right equipment, optimal CO2 levels are maintained automatically.
CO2 levels in the air are measured in ppm (parts per million). Ambient air has about 300 PPM, but plants benefit the most when the CO2 is between 1,000 and 1,500 ppm.
CO2 monitors measure the amount of CO2 in the air so that this can be optimized. CO2 controllers are capable of maintaining the proper level of CO2 in your grow area by sensing the ppm of the ambient air, then turning your CO2 generator/regulator on and off as needed. Many monitors come with some form of logging and can even monitor relative humidity and temperature along with CO2.
