This little HLG LED grow light with the funky haircut is the Horticultural Lighting Groups (HLG) 225, by the same makers of the HLG Quantum Board style LED grow lights. 225 as in 225 watts it has. This is a cool little light that I got shipped to me by HLG and it's really made to be a replacement for a lot of the 315 watt CMH lights out there. So where as you have a 315 watt maybe you want to lower your heat or you really want to jump on the LED bandwagon and maybe try you know where these LED Quantum boards that's basically what this 225 is it is something that can substitute a 315w CMH grow light.
Let's go over this HLG LED model a little bit. If you take a look at what is that haircut looking thing. It looks like a 1980s you know kind of funky haircut. That's actually a passive cooling device. So if you've ever heard of a heatsink, this is basically just a heatsink. We all know it looks a little funk--though I'm kind of learning to like it. I don't know, it just adds a little bit of uniqueness to this HLG 225 LED grow light.
Other than that let's go to the HLG 225 spectrum a little bit. It will come with a fixed spectrum right at about 4000K, but it also has added 630nm and 660nm red and deep red so that you really get a full spectrum (good for both veg and flower). So this HLG 225 LED light can be used from veg and even propagation all the way through flower and harvest.
This HLG 225 LED light will work well if you have a 2' x 2', 3' x 3', or 4' x 4' size grow tent. If you're flowering you probably want to stop at about a 3' x 3' but you can probably veg with this HLG LED up to about a 4' x 4' area.
The HLG 225 Elite LED grow light comes in primarily a 120 volt but I think you can also get a 240 volt if you ask nicely. Other than that I just like how small and compact this 225w HLG LED is. It's 12" x 10" x 6." The HLG 225 is just a cool little LED light Innovation out on the market and I just wanted to show it to all viewers.
