Surface Sanitizers

Athena Reset is peroxyacetic acid that needs no rinse and breaks down into vinegar and water. SaniDate 5.0 pairs hydrogen peroxide with peracetic acid and is OMRI Listed. A ProKure V pouch makes 100 ppm chlorine dioxide. Physan 20 mixes at 1 tablespoon per gallon. Isopropyl alcohol 99.9% handles tools.

How to clean a hydroponic system with hydrogen peroxide?

Dilute first: the published route takes 34% peroxide at one part to eleven parts water, giving roughly 3%. That 3% solution then goes in at about 3 ml per liter. In a recirculating reservoir it holds for around four days. Never add the concentrate neat.

Is hydrogen peroxide safe for plants?

At label dilutions, yes, and it breaks down into water and oxygen. The concentrate is a different matter. At 34% it carries the signal word Danger and causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Handle it with goggles, a face shield and chemical-resistant gloves, and store it vented.
