Eyewear - Glasses
Grow room glasses tame lamp glare and restore true leaf color, so plant problems show up early under the lights. Pick an LED+ lens for blurple arrays, Citadel FX2 for white LED, and an HPS lens for sodium rooms.

Grow Glasses for LED, HPS and CMH Lights
Grow room glasses cut the glare of high-intensity lamps and pull color back to neutral. That lets you spot deficiency, mildew and mites. Each lens is matched to a light type. Method Seven makes most of the range, alongside AC Infinity and Summer Blues Optics....

See every Method Seven lens on our Method Seven page. For close-up pest checks, pair your glasses with a loupe from microscopes and loupes. Both sit under tools and gear.
Types of Grow Glasses
LED Grow Glasses
The Operator LED+ and Cultivator LED+ are for magenta, pink and red blurple arrays, not white full-spectrum bars. For white LED and CMH rooms, the Citadel FX2 blocks UV below 400 nm and is ANSI Z87 rated. The Classic Clip-On fits over prescription frames.
HPS and CMH Glasses
HPS lenses such as the Resistance, Cultivator HPS+ and Coup HPS+ neutralize the orange-yellow glow. The Operator MH+ and Summer Blues CMH/MH lenses handle metal halide rooms. AC Infinity's set swaps green, blue and gray lenses for blurple, HPS and full spectrum light.
Sun Lenses and Camera Filters
The Coup HPSx changes from HPS color to a sun tint outdoors in about three minutes. The Evolution and Coup Sun are polarized for greenhouse and field work. Method Seven also makes camera filters for blurple LED and HPS photos.
How Growers Use Grow Glasses
Match the lens to your brightest lamp, and put the glasses on before you step under the lights. McGill researchers found tinted safety glasses cut visible LED light by about 80%. Most glasses blocked only 10 to 40% of infrared above 700 nm.
Frequently Asked Questions
Grow room glasses vs sunglasses: what's the difference?
Sunglasses darken everything evenly. Grow lenses filter the specific spikes of a grow lamp, so leaves look green again instead of purple or orange. That lets you see deficiency and pest damage. Polarized sun lenses like the Method Seven Evolution are for daylight, not lamps.
Are LED grow lights bad for your eyes?
High-intensity blue light can cause photochemical eye injury, according to a McGill University study of horticultural LEDs. The authors found tinted safety glasses work for the visible 400 to 700 nm range. With infrared LEDs above 700 nm, they advise against polarized and fashion glasses.
What are the best grow glasses?
The best pair matches your lights. Choose Operator or Cultivator LED+ for blurple LEDs, Citadel FX2 for white LED and CMH, and Resistance or Cultivator HPS+ for sodium lamps. If you move between rooms, the AC Infinity three-lens set covers blurple, HPS and full spectrum.
Can you get prescription grow room glasses?
The simplest route is a clip-on. The Method Seven Classic Clip-On LED glasses attach over your own prescription frames and correct blurple LED color. Wraparound styles like the AC Infinity glasses add side coverage with a padded EVA lining for long shifts in the room.
