HLG 100 Rspec V2 Board, Driver and Output
The V2 uses a single board of about 192 Samsung LM301B diodes. It draws about 95W at the wall. Retail specs put output between 225 and 235 µmol/s, near 2.45 µmol/J, and over 15,000 lumens. Two color temperatures are offered: 3000K, called Rspec, and 4000K. The board measures about 12.75 x 11 in, small enough for a shelf, cabinet or 2x2 tent. A non-dimmable Meanwell driver accepts 90–264V and comes with a standard wall plug. Cooling is passive through the aluminum heat sink, so it runs silent. HLG compares it to about 200W of T5 or metal halide lighting. At about 0.9A on 120V, several units can share one household circuit. Because the driver does not dim, control intensity by raising or lowering the board.
Where a Small Quantum Board LED Fits Best
A small quantum board led like this one shines in tight spaces where a big fixture would cook the plants. Flowering coverage is about 2 x 2 ft, and veg or clone coverage stretches to about 3 x 3 ft. Mother plants and clones do well under the cooler board, which leans slightly blue for compact growth. The warmer Rspec board carries more red and handles flowering in a small tent or closet. Hang it high for seedlings, then lower it in steps while you watch the top leaves for curling or bleaching. Two boards side by side cover a 2x4 tent evenly. It adds little heat, which matters in closets and cabinets with weak airflow. Leaves under LED stay cooler than under CFL or T5, so small grows often run a degree or two warmer. The lack of dimming is the main trade-off at this price. For a 3x3 or larger flower space, a bigger HLG fixture delivers far more light.
