Hortilux PowerVEG Full Spectrum with UV 54w - 4ft T5 HO Bulb

PowerVEG™ is different than other T5 lamps. Not only does it produce a well balanced spectrum for your plants, it also provides UVA and UVB. UV is an essential component of the spectrum that produces stronger, healthier plants, allowing them to produce higher quality fruits and flowers. The sooner you introduce UV to your plants, the better your end product. No other T5 bulb on the market produces a spectrum with this quality or UV of any kind. PowerVEG can be used in any existing T5 54W HO lighting fixture. 1 Year Warranty

A: Eye Hortilux recommends a few different combinations when using the PowerVeg series of bulbs. Following is the link to the PowerVeg webpage. About halfway down the page is their recommended formulas. https://eyehortilux.com/grow-lights/powerveg-family/ Happy growing!

A: As long as the T5 fixture can properly power 4ft 54 watt T5 bulbs then you should have no issues using these bulbs. Happy growing!

A: The price is for a single bulb. If you would like to buy case quantities you can look at https://growershouse.com/eye-hortilux-powerveg-full-spectrum-with-uv-54w-4ft-t5-ho-pack-of-4-bulbs which includes four bulbs or https://growershouse.com/hortilux-powerveg-full-spectrum-with-uv-4ft-t5-ho-bulb-pack-of-eight which includes eight bulbs. Happy growing!

A: You can certainly run both fixtures at once; however, we typically recommend using these powerVeg lamps at a ratio of about 1:4 (so your 4 lamp fixture could use one of these lamps and your 8 lamp fixture could use two of these)

A: The Power Veg T5 bulbs from Hortilux have a UVA and UVB spectrum, which most lights can not boast. This UVA-B light is the same spectrum put out by the sun. Exposure to this kind of light causes your plants immune system to respond and protect your plant. This strengthens cell walls and thickens your plants stems. You'll also see an increase in production and quality of your yield; bigger, deeply pigmented, and tastier fruits. And better yet, the produce pretty much the same amount of heat as a normal T5 bulb.

Details
The new PowerVEG™ T5 from EYE HORTILUX is a game changer. The broad spectrum and the addition of UV will help build better root structure and allow plants to be transplanted more easily without shocking the system.

No other T5 in the world can compare to PowerVEG™!

Have you ever seen a spectral distribution for a T5 grow bulb? Most likely you have not. That's because what is currently available on the market is all the same. From brand to brand they have nothing unique or different to offer. The only real difference is their Kelvin Temperature and, contrary to popular belief, Kelvin Temperature does not affect plant growth in any way whatsoever.

Why PowerVEG is like no other T5

  • First and only T5 to incorporate full spectrums of UVA and UVB (UVA = 315nm – 400nm : UVB = 280nm – 315nm).
  • Exclusive chemistry which produces UVA & UVB.
  • The only T5 grow lamp Made in the USA!!!

  • What PowerVEG does for your plants

  • Promotes extreme photosynthesis for faster growth.
  • Creates a stronger root system.
  • UV light allows for easy transition from indoor veg to outdoor flowering.
  • UV light helps develop stronger healthier vegetative plants that will produce higher yields and higher quality crops.
  • Creates faster producing yields, vivid colors, more flowering and better tasting crops.

  • Directions

PowerVEG can be used in any existing T5 54W HO lighting fixture

    Recommend Light Cycles

  • If using all PowerVEG FS+UV lamps in one fixture, we recommend reducing the time the lights are on by 20%. This is due to the quality of the spectrum and the amount of UV coming from the light.
  • If using a 50-50 mixture of PowerVEG and standard T5 lamps, no need to reduce the time lights are on.

  • Recommended Height Above Canopy:

The recommended height above the canopy of plants should be between 8in-16in. The optimal height is 12in

    Warnings

The very best in fluorescent lighting Review by Haze

First, to grower x...if you put nothing but bulbs in the yellow ends....of course it will appear dimmer. You have to add the whole spectrum, and the right formula. Using their start to finish, or use of the veg or flower formulas greatly increases the health and quality of the product. No doubt or arguing, I have used them in various orders. I have used them on various species and strains, over the entire time these bulbs have been out. No matter what, these bulbs have out performed almost any other fixture or lighting. Yes, that means MH and HPS. If used properly at a low height, these bulbs will make any Gardner question their methods after seeing the results. (Posted on 11/4/2017)
Best veg bulbs Review by Dirt Farmer

These are the best bulbs for the veg phase. I went from normal mh to Hortilux Blue mh and saw a big difference for the better. I added these bulbs side by side to the Hortilux Blue mh and the plants like them the best. Since the genetics I grow dislike a harsh and intense light like the Hortilux Super HPS I will be using the 4 light flower version of the PowerVeg along with Hortilux Blue mh during the bloom cycle. great bulbs Review by tboog

All my girls love... LOVE this bulb, mommas too! Perky, strong branching meaning none of my leaves droop, they shoot straight out, they also stay kinda short and bushy, but I do have this one that loves the bolt and is kinda stringy. But the other two ladies stay short and bushy. Genetics are funny.

I used the 50/50 mix and mommas are 2/8, i can tell the diff in the 50/50, the girls were stronger, lol but I have 2 that are kinda funny, 1 lays over popped 3 nodes! Another 1 went capow with 7-8 nodes she is kinda a little freak with funny leaves and tight nodes! Other than that my girls are happy little princesses! (Posted on 3/21/2016)

Everything it has been advertised to do it does. Overnite plants show response to the new and improved spectrum that this bulb provides. Powdered mildew...gone. Droopy leaves...gone. Size of flower...noticeably larger when compared to a plant without the added uva uvb. I origanally bought a half dozen bulbs. Now i am back to complete the conversion to a spectrum with uva and uvb. As an addition to my current HPS with T-5 supplemental lighting. (Posted on 1/12/2016)

Worth every dollar Review by Thai

Not sure where Grower X's experience level is to spread such misinformation. They appear dimmer due to the higher UV-B light they produce. I experienced tighter nodes, lusher growth, and overall stronger plants with only 2 tubes in a 8 tube set up. The plants grow a deeper green, and have increased branching. I was skeptical at first, but now I cannot see running T-5's in veg without these. (Posted on 1/8/2016)
    Great bulbs Review by Ron

I normally don't write reviews. After reading Grower X's erroneous review I felt compelled to speak up. These bulbs are the best T5's currently available period. No need to repeat the technical explanation as to why, as Sue's review expertly addresses why. I run two PowerVeg bulbs in a 6 bulb Quantum Bad Boy fixture. I switch out the remaining 4 bulbs between HP veg and flower bulbs, depending on life cycle. The PowerVeg bulbs are never switched out. Yes, they are pricey. However the extra cost is more than recovered with higher yields and quality crops. (Posted on 11/6/2015)

Not sure how the above user didn't notice an extreme difference, for the better, how these perform. Hands down shorter internode growth, lusher deeper green foliage and builds perfect stocky symmetrical stem growth. It's like comparing a standard t5 against a hps or mh. Highly recommended! P. S. the added UV spectrum is what makes these seem dimmer but don't be fooled they perform just like MH bulbs! (Posted on 10/29/2015)
Not Impressed Review by Grower X
    Overall Rating
I feel like I got burned by hype buying these lamps.
These lamps up against common t5ho run very very dim for some reason. I have 8 lamps and they're all the same.
Plants under these lights were non responsive and growth slowed to to a crawl. After putting my old t5 lamps back in the fixture, growth rates came back to normal and prolific.
Using a UV Hawk meter these lights have the same UV output as others as well.
I'm just not sure about these lamps. They cost 2x as much compared to other t5 lamps but performance is like using weak CFLs.
IDK if these are truly grow lights or just UV supplements but I wont be buying any more. Maybe I just got a bad batch that was manufactured poorly and dont work right IDK. The name "PowerVeg" made me think I was buying some baddass veg lamps for my t5ho fixture but that's not what I got. No returns on lamps either so I'm stuck with about $200 of useless t5ho tubes.
The cheaper Plantmax or Fulham t5ho work way better and cost much less so I'll be sticking with those (Posted on 10/23/2015)
