What RAW Microbes Grow Stage Is Aimed At
NPK split their microbial range by growth stage and this is the vegetative half. The target is root growth and nutrient availability, where the flowering blend is aimed at nutrient availability and plant protection. That difference in emphasis is the reason to run the right one rather than treating them as interchangeable. The logic of inoculating during veg rather than later is about timing and space. A root system that is still expanding has fresh surface being created every day, and an organism that colonises that surface early holds it. Once a root zone is mature and fully occupied, a new population has nowhere to establish. That is why a late first inoculation often does nothing visible. Every culture is tested individually, then the final blend is tested again.
Running a Vegetative Stage Inoculant Through a Cycle
The rate is half to one teaspoon per gallon, which is around 0.65 to 1.3 mL per litre. It goes into water or a completed nutrient solution, during normal irrigation rather than as an extra operation. A routine programme repeats it every one or two weeks. Frequency matters more than dose, because the aim is a population that holds rather than a single large application. Switch to the Bloom blend when the room flips, and keep inoculating through flower rather than stopping. Two incompatibilities rarely get mentioned and they matter. Chlorinated tap water will knock a large part of the inoculation out, so dechlorinated or filtered water is what this should go into. Hydrogen peroxide and root-zone sterilisers do the same thing deliberately, so running either in the same reservoir wastes the powder. There is no guaranteed analysis and no NPK on this product, because it supplies organisms rather than elements. NPK also make a separate nitrogen-fixing inoculant in this range, which is a different product and not a substitute. Sizes run 2 oz, 8 oz, 2 lbs, 10 lbs and 25 lbs.
Key Features
- The vegetative half of a pair: Aimed at root growth, where the Bloom blend targets flower.
- Inoculate early, not late: Fresh root surface is easier to colonise than a mature root zone.
- Half to one teaspoon a gallon: Around 0.65 to 1.3 mL per litre of finished solution.
- Every one to two weeks: Frequency matters more than dose when establishing a population.
- Tested twice: Each culture individually, then the final blend again.
- Not with chlorine or peroxide: Both undo the inoculation; use dechlorinated water.
- Five sizes: 2 oz through to 25 lbs, with cost per pound falling steeply.
