What Athena Reset Is For, and What It Is Not

This is a sanitiser and disinfectant for surfaces and water lines, not a plant treatment. The active is peroxyacetic acid, and the formulation is EPA registered. It disperses and penetrates biofilm, which is the part a straight bleach wipe does not do. Labelled targets are bacteria, mould, fungus and yeast, plus slime, odour and algae in water. Hardness and soil load do not blunt it, which is unusual for an oxidiser. It is non-foaming on its own and pairs with Athena Perafoam when foam is wanted. No rinse is required, and it adds no taste, odour or colour. It is food grade, and it is non-corrosive to stainless steel and aluminium. Through other foaming devices, Perafoam goes in at one fluid ounce per gallon of water and Reset at the same rate per gallon of solution. This is the five gallon container.

Peroxyacetic Acid Breaks Down Into Vinegar and Water

Peroxyacetic acid breaks down into vinegar and water. It leaves no disinfection by-products, so a rinse step is not needed after contact time. That is the operational advantage over chlorine on irrigation lines and osmosis membranes. Use it on walls, benches, floors, racking, carts, tools, dry rooms and trim rooms. It also strips biofilm from ultrafiltration membranes and from greenhouse wet walls. Surfaces have to be cleaned first, because a disinfectant is not a detergent. It is a hazardous chemical, so gloves and eye protection are the minimum. Concentrate and low pH products do not belong on the same shelf. A five gallon drum is a facility sized container, and a single tent has no use for it.
