A metallised layer does two jobs that a plain polyethylene film cannot. It stops light completely rather than filtering it. Choosing an Oxygen Barrier Film Over a Clear One

For a bag opened next week it is not. So the choice between this and a clear roll comes down to how long the seal has to hold. The cost of the barrier is visibility, and it is total. Nothing is visible through a metallised wall, so every bag needs a written label. Build that into the routine rather than discovering it at the back of a shelf. Cutting to length is where a roll beats a pre-cut bag. Make the bag fit the load instead of the other way round and you waste less headspace. Leave about three inches above the contents for the seal and for a second seal later. Seal twice at the open end on anything going into long storage. Two welds an inch apart survive handling that a single weld does not.
