What the TrolMaster 4RS-1 Adds to a Control System
One trigger in, four switched outlets out. That is the whole function and the detail that matters is in how those four behave. Each outlet has its own power relay rated at twenty-five amps, so this is not a splitter sharing one contact between four loads. The main power supply is 240 volts. The station staggers its outlets by three seconds rather than closing them together. Inrush current on a motor or a ballast is several times its running draw. Four of those arriving in the same instant will trip a breaker. The same breaker handles the same four loads perfectly well once they are running. Spacing them removes that problem without any thought from the installer. It connects with a trigger cable to a plug-in style device module on a Hydro-X system. Operating conditions run from forty-one to a hundred and forty Fahrenheit at zero to ninety-nine percent humidity, non-condensing. The packed carton measures 275 by 255 by 95 mm and weighs about one and a half kilos.
Wiring an Expander Station, and One Thing to Check First
One line matters before this goes on the wall. The plug on this unit is not UL or ETL listed. That matters to anyone working under an inspection regime. Confirm it against local requirements before committing to a design. The supply wants a 120 or 240 volt circuit and the unit accepts conductors up to number six gauge. That puts the installation in electrician territory rather than plug-and-play. Size the circuit against the sum of what the four outlets will actually carry, not against the relay rating. Four times twenty-five amps is far more than any single supply here delivers. Work out the total connected load first. The three second stagger helps the inrush but it does nothing about steady state draw. Keep the carton figures in mind when planning a rack, since this is a wall mounted box rather than something that sits on a shelf.
