What General Hydroponics RapidStart Actually Adds

It is not a rooting gel. Analysis is 1-0.5-1, so the nutrition in it is deliberately light. The work is done by plant extracts and amino acids that push root initiation, branching and fine root hairs. More fine root means more surface taking up feed, which is why a cutting under it settles faster.

Dosing a Rooting Enhancer, and When to Stop

Two rates cover it. Normal use is 1 tsp per 5 gallons, about 0.25 mL per litre, in soil, coco or a soilless mix. Aggressive use is 2 tsp per 5 gallons, 0.5 mL per litre, for cloning and recirculating hydro. Add it to the mixed nutrient solution, then check pH and EC after rather than before. Timing is where listings disagree. General Hydroponics positions it for propagation through early vegetative growth, and it is commonly carried into early flower. Running it all season is more than the maker asks for. It will not stain the roots or leave a film, so white roots stay readable when you lift a basket to inspect them.
