The Overnighter is the small duffle in the Revelry range. The bag measures 20 by 11 by 11 inches and holds 28 litres, which is a weekend rather than a week. The shell is rubber-backed nylon, so rain beads off the outside instead of soaking through the weave. Leather accents and metal hardware carry the wear points. The main zipper is waterproof and runs beneath a hook and loop cover that hides the pull. Revelry builds the closure to take a padlock. A removable shoulder strap comes with it, and the bag works as a grab handle carry with the strap off. Four colourways: black, crosshatch grey, navy blue and striped black.
What the Smell Proof Lining Actually Does
The lining is where the price sits, and it is worth understanding before relying on it. Revelry builds it as three separate layers. The outer two are synthetic filter material and the middle one is activated charcoal. Air leaving the bag passes through all three, and the charcoal adsorbs the volatile compounds carrying the odour rather than masking them. Two things follow from that. Activated charcoal fills up with use over time. A bag carried daily loses performance long before one used on occasional trips, and nothing on the outside of it will tell you. The fix is a good one. Warm the bag through in a clothes dryer for a few minutes, which drives the trapped compounds back off the charcoal and restores its capacity. That turns the lining from a consumable into something renewable. It is the single most useful instruction on this product and almost nobody passes it on.
