The Twister Trim Saver CS-18 is the larger cyclone collector, built for the T2. It captures trim before the impeller touches it, so what fills the bin is usable material rather than shred.

What Separates the Twister Trim Saver CS-18 From a Vacuum

A conventional trimmer vacuum sends everything through the fan, and the trim arrives mulched. Here a radial cyclone drops material into a bin before the airflow reaches the impeller, recovering over 99% of it as intact leaf. Scaling to a T2 takes real power. The motor is 3 hp at 3450 RPM on a 240V supply, moving 1700 CFM against 10 in of static pressure through a 12.75 in impeller and a 6 in inlet. It stands 72 in tall at 170 lbs. Running current is 9 A, but startup hits 49 A, so the supply and breaker matter more than the running figure suggests.

Fitting a T2 Trim Collection System Into a Room

The electrical requirement is the first thing to settle, because this one is not a standard wall outlet job. It needs a dedicated two forty volt circuit on a fifteen amp breaker with a NEMA six twenty plug. That is usually an electrician rather than an afternoon. Site it close enough to the trimmer that the hose runs short and straight, since every bend costs airflow that the cyclone needs to work. Sound sits at eighty decibels, which is a trim room that wants ear protection. In return the bin fills with material an extraction line can actually use. Empty it between batches and wipe the separator, the hoses and the impeller housing. Swap the filter bag once airflow drops rather than at a fixed interval. Make sure of the model before ordering, because the CS-18 is the T2 unit and the smaller CS-12 is the one built for the T4.

Key Features

  • Cyclone before the impeller: Recovers trim as intact leaf rather than pushing it through the fan first.
  • Over 99% separation: Very little escapes to the filter bag, so the bin holds nearly all of it.
  • 1700 CFM at 10 in static: Sized to keep a T2 clear through a continuous run rather than short batches.
  • 3 hp motor on 240V: The power a larger trimmer needs, though it does require a dedicated circuit.
  • Removable collection bin: Lifts out for emptying, with a quick wipe down between trim sessions.
  • 1 to 80 micron filter bag: Holds the fines that clear the cyclone and keeps airborne dust down.
  • Serviceable throughout: Separator, hoses and impeller housing all come apart for cleaning.
