0voteA: You certainly could use the fan in a nail salon for general air circulation. It has an outer housing which will allow it to sit level on the floor. The caution I would consider is that there is no grill or guard over the propellers to prevent your hand or clothing from coming into contact with moving parts. If anyone were to accidentally do so, severe injury could result.

0voteA: The negative pressure isn't necessarily a bad thing as you will be exhausting odors at a greater rate, etc. If you just want to equalize the pressure, you would need to more closely match the 711CFM of the other fan. So the solution would be another 8" vortex fan.
