Types of Kits and Accessories

Complete Feeding Kits

Technaflora Recipe for Success packs ten sample bottles and a week-by-week chart, our budget pick. House & Garden sells kits by medium: Soil, Hydro and Coco. The FoxFarm Soil trio pairs Grow Big 6-4-4 and Tiger Bloom 2-8-4 with Big Bloom. Ventana and Heavy 16 offer complete lines too.

Supplement Bundles

These ride on top of a base feed rather than replace it. The Advanced Nutrients Bigger Yields Professional bundle holds Tarantula, SensiZym and Nirvana, all at 2 mL per liter. The FoxFarm Soluble trio runs Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching in sequence through flower.

Measuring and Dispensing Tools

Syringes in 10 and 20 mL measure small doses. The Hydrofarm pump screws onto a gallon lid and delivers 30 mL per stroke. The Gro1 scale weighs powders to 0.1 gram. CANNA spigot caps turn 5, 10 and 20 liter cans into taps you never lift.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to measure liquid nutrients?

Use a syringe or measuring cup marked in milliliters, and draw from a shaken bottle. Small reservoirs need small doses, so 10 or 20 mL syringes are the most accurate tool. For repeated doses from a gallon jug, a 30 mL pump saves pouring. Rinse each tool between products.

What nutrients do I need for hydroponics?

A base nutrient made for hydro, usually in two or three parts, covers the full diet. Add Cal-Mag when your water is soft or reverse osmosis. A bloom booster is optional in flower. A kit like the House & Garden Hydro bundle packs these together so nothing is missing.

What is A and B nutrients?

It is a base feed split into two bottles because some elements bind into solids when stored together as concentrates. Diluted into water one after the other, they stay available. Add Part A, stir, then add Part B. House & Garden Cocos and Heavy 16 both work this way.

How many plants does a nutrient starter kit feed?

Most starter kits carry enough core nutrients for roughly two to four plants through a full cycle, from propagation to harvest. Kit sizes vary, so check the bottle volumes against the label rate. Technaflora's kit uses sample sizes, while Ventana offers its line from quarts up to 2.5 gallons.
