The 3/4 in fitting kit for the AACH10 ships two 3/4 in barbed fittings with two hose clamps, a replacement fuse and two rubber collars. Run it when the loop is three-quarter and you would rather not neck it down at the chiller.

Why an AACH10 Would Want the 3/4 in Fitting Kit

Every reduction in a chiller loop costs head pressure, and the pump pays for it. If the rest of your plumbing is 3/4 in, necking down to half-inch at the chiller and back out again adds two restrictions. The pump pushes through both for no reason. This kit keeps the line at three-quarter all the way through the AACH10. On a short loop the difference is small. On a long run with elbows and an inline filter, it separates a pump that keeps up from one that does not.

Two 3/4 in Barbed Fittings and the Rest of the Kit

Alongside the 3/4 in barbed fittings you get two hose clamps, one replacement fuse and two rubber collars for the inlet and outlet. Slide the clamps on before the tubing goes over the barb, which sounds obvious until you are lying under a reservoir. Warm the tube end in hot water first if it is stiff. Forcing cold 3/4 in tubing onto a barb tears a lip and creates a leak that only shows under pressure. One thing to be clear about: this does not increase the chiller capacity. The AACH10 has the output it has, and larger fittings only remove restriction rather than adding cooling.

Key Features

  • Two 3/4 in barbed fittings: Keeps a three-quarter loop at full bore through the chiller instead of necking down twice.
  • Lower restriction on long runs: Matters most where the loop carries elbows or an inline filter that already cost head pressure.
  • Two hose clamps: Slide them on before the tubing goes over the barb, and seat them square on the ridge.
  • One replacement fuse: Spare for the component most likely to shut down a chiller without warning.
  • Two rubber inlet and outlet collars: Fresh collars for the seals that harden and start weeping after a few seasons.
