Full-Bore Plumbing on an AACH50 Chiller Fitting Kit

Bigger chillers move more water, and the loop has to keep up. On an AACH50 or AACH50HP pushing a large reservoir, half-inch fittings become the narrowest point in the system. The pump works against that every minute it runs. The 3/4 in chiller fittings in this kit keep the bore consistent from pump to chiller to return. Same kit covers the AACH25 and AACH25HP for anyone already plumbed in three-quarter.

Installing and Keeping 3/4 in Chiller Fittings Sealed

The kit holds two barbed fittings, two hose clamps, one replacement fuse and two rubber collars. Three-quarter tubing is stiffer than half-inch and fights you on a cold day. Dip the end in hot water before pushing it over the barb. Clamps go on the tubing first and seat behind the barb ridge, not on top of it. Check the collars each time you drain the loop for cleaning, since they take the temperature swing and give up before anything else does. The honest note is that this kit changes plumbing, not performance. It removes restriction so the pump has an easier time, and the chiller output stays exactly what the model is rated for.
