AC Infinity AIRLIFT S-Series Shutter Exhaust Fan in Four Sizes
The AIRLIFT S-Series is a wall-mounted shutter fan that pushes hot, humid air out of a greenhouse, grow room, shed, garage or barn. It comes in four sizes: 10, 12, 14 and 16 inches. Rated airflow runs from 631 CFM on the 10-inch model to 2560 CFM on the 16-inch. Each fan uses an EC motor under PWM control, which gives fine speed steps with low noise and power draw. Power draw ranges from 54 W to 100 W depending on size. The aluminum blades sit behind steel wire guards, and steel shutters on the outside close on their own when the fan stops. Closed shutters keep out rain, wind and pests between run cycles. The fan unit is sealed to IP44 against dust and splashing water. Dual ball bearings are rated for 67,000 hours and let the fan run in any orientation. An included single-button controller sets the speed in ten steps. Holding the button for four seconds turns the fan off, and the next press brings it back at its last setting. A UIS cord links the fan to the controller, and the fan's own power cord feeds both. The input range is 100-240V AC. AC Infinity backs it with a two-year warranty. The AC Infinity manual is attached.
Installing a Greenhouse Shutter Exhaust Fan
Pick a spot high on the wall, since warm air rises and collects under the roof. AC Infinity recommends mounting it at least 8.2 ft above the floor. Put the fan on the side opposite any intake vents or open doors so fresh air crosses the whole room. Check the wall for wires and pipes, then mark the cutout with a level. The 12-inch model needs a 13.54 in square opening, and the 16-inch needs 16.92 in. Cut the opening, set the fan in from the inside, then mark and drill the four mounting holes. Secure it with the included screws, keeping the power cord and controller port on the inside of the room. Mount the controller near the fan with its screw, its built-in magnet or an optional plate. Plug the fan into a standard outlet rather than hardwiring it, and leave solid-state speed controls off the circuit. Run it at higher speeds through the heat of the day and lower speeds at night to keep air moving quietly. In a grow room or greenhouse, steady exhaust pulls out the moisture plants release and helps hold humidity down. Wipe dust off the blades and guards and check that the shutters swing freely at each season change. Keep it out of flammable, explosive or chemical-laden spaces, as the manual directs.
