Five aluminium shelves fill a stainless chamber measuring 22 x 23.5 x 25 in. Each shelf carries its own 300 W heater, its own probe and its own controller. Heat therefore arrives through the shelf the material is sitting on. Conduction beats warming a wall and waiting for still air to move that heat around. Shelf surfaces run 22 x 23.25 in each, and they sit 4.5 in apart. Optional stackable shelves halve that gap and double the loading area. Each shelf takes up to 20 lb. Third-generation low proportional gain controllers hold setpoint to within 1 F. Range runs from ambient to 480 F, readable on either scale. Reaching the top of that range takes about two hours and fifteen minutes.

Vacuum work is about pulling the boiling point down, not pushing temperature up. This chamber reaches better than 500 microns with a suitable pump attached. All internal tubing is stainless, which holds that level far longer than soft line. An oil-filled mechanical gauge reads from zero to 30 in of mercury without drifting. A KF25 flange takes the pump connection, and a needle valve meters gas backfill. A check valve blocks pump oil from crawling back into the chamber. Three inches of insulation keep the enclosure cool and the draw low. The unit itself weighs 410 lb and travels at 630 lb on a pallet. Dual-layer tempered glass and in-door LEDs let you watch a run without venting.
