How the Hydroponic Reservoir Lid Is Shaped, and Why
The panel is slightly convex and ribbed rather than flat, which does two jobs at once. Ribbing stiffens a sheet this wide so it does not sag into the solution when something gets set on it. The convex face sheds anything that lands on top. Because the lid sits inside the tank rim rather than over it, condensate and spill run back into the reservoir. Nothing tracks down the outside wall onto the floor. That geometry is the difference between a proper hydroponic reservoir lid and a sheet of coroplast cut to size. There is an access port hole for topping off, dropping in a probe or checking level without lifting the panel. The port hole cover is a separate part. Around it are multiple drill access points, marked spots for running pump cords, float valves or meter leads through without cracking the sheet. The reservoir bottom is sold separately as well. Profile is only 1.25 in, so it still slides under a flood table.
