Two temperature zones and one humidity reading share a single large display. The remote probe rides on a three meter lead and covers -58 to 158 F. That is far wider than any grow space will ever ask of it. Relative humidity is read by a sensor on the side of the head itself, across 25% to 98% RH. Temperature lands within about a degree at 0.1 resolution, and humidity within 3% through the middle band. It runs on one AA battery. The unit also keeps an alarm clock that switches between twelve and twenty four hour display. That is more useful in a grow room than it first sounds.
Placing an Indoor Outdoor Hygrometer Around the Canopy
The split between the two sensors decides where each part goes. Because humidity is measured at the head, the head belongs at canopy height. Do not tuck it behind a fan where the air is already mixed. Send the probe lead to the cold corner instead, or out to a greenhouse bench you want to watch for frost. The high and low memory is the part growers use most. It tells you what the room did at three in the morning when nobody was in it. One honest limit on this model. The probe reads temperature only, so a second humidity point needs a second instrument. The head is also not built to sit in spray or standing water.
