This electric pump sends air out through four separate outlets to oxygenate nutrient solution. Each outlet feeds its own run of air tubing and an air stone. Combined output is 15 liters per minute, or about 240 gallons per hour. The pump draws just 6 watts and 0.08 amps on a 120V outlet. A synthetic rubber diaphragm inside keeps airflow steady hour after hour. A pressure dial on top lets you turn output down for small containers or up for deeper water. Rated pressure is above 2.3 psi. A multi-level muffler holds operating noise to a 45 dB maximum. That is quiet enough for a closet, spare room or tent in a living space. The unit plugs in with a 4 ft cord. It carries ETL registration 4006823. An air intake filter on the bottom keeps dust out of the diaphragm. Hydrofarm backs the pump with a one-year warranty.

Running a Hydroponic Air Pump on Four DWC Buckets

Four outlets line up neatly with a four-bucket deep water culture setup, one stone per bucket. They also work for a single large reservoir, with all four stones spread across the floor. Set the pump on a dry, stable shelf above the water level, never below it. When a pump sits lower than the water, solution can siphon back through the tubing and damage it. Never submerge the pump or let water reach the housing. Leave space around it so air can reach the intake and the motor stays cool. Push a length of 1/4 in tubing onto each outlet and run it to an air stone. Drop the stones to the bottom of each container so bubbles rise through the whole water column. Start with the dial at full and turn it down if the surface churns too hard. A 1/4 in tee can split an outlet further or combine two outlets into one larger stone. Replace stones when the bubble pattern turns coarse and uneven.
