Anden A95F Filter Size: a Square 12 x 12 x 1

The A95F is the movable version of the A95, and it does not share the A95's filter. Anden lists 5770 at 12 x 12 x 1 for the F, and 5771 at 10 x 12 x 1 for the fixed model. One is square and the other is not, which is the quickest way to tell them apart once both are in front of you. Before that, the letter on the data plate is the only reliable check. The A95F's own manual lists part 5770 and the 12 x 12 x 1 size in its service parts. There is no ambiguity once you know which machine you have.

The Small Advantage of a Square Panel, and What the Media Does

A square filter cannot go in the wrong way round. On a rectangular panel you have to note the orientation before pulling the old one out. On this one you do not, which is a small thing until you are doing it on a step ladder. Beyond the shape it is the same media as the rest of the range. The EPA holds MERV 11 to 65 percent or better capture from 1 to 3 microns, and 85 percent from 3 to 10. That is where leaf dust and media grit live. Anden builds it as a multi-pleat, folding the media so more surface fits inside the frame. What it protects is the evaporator coil, and a clean coil is a machine still making its rated pints. Because the A95F moves between rooms, the harvest half of Anden's interval is usually the more useful one. Every 12 weeks, or at the end of a grow.
