Anden Duct Kit 5807 Transitions for the A320 Series

This kit turns an Anden A320V1 or A320V3 into a fully ducted dehumidifier that can live outside the room it dries. It is a pair of galvanized steel transitions that bolt over the unit's inlet and outlet and give each opening a flanged duct connection. The outlet transition measures 18-21/32 x 21-7/16 inches with a 1-1/2 inch flange. The inlet transition measures 19-29/32 x 20-21/32 inches with a 15/16 inch flange. Both openings are equivalent to a 22-inch round duct, which sets the size of the supply and return runs. The inlet transition carries a filter access door, so the filter can be changed without pulling the duct off. External static pressure on the finished system should stay at or below 0.6 in w.c. Above that, airflow drops and the dehumidifier loses capacity and efficiency while drawing more power. The whole kit ships at about 9.4 lb. Galvanized steel holds its shape in a mechanical room and shrugs off the moisture that passes through it.

Planning a Dehumidifier Ducting Kit Install

Most installs put the dehumidifier in a mechanical room, a hallway ceiling or an attic space next to the grow room. Return air comes out of the room into the inlet transition, and dry air goes back through the outlet side. That keeps compressor noise and heat out of the canopy and frees floor space for benches or rolling racks. Keep both runs as short as possible and use the fewest bends the layout allows. Rigid or semi-rigid duct is the better choice here, since metal flex duct adds friction fast. Seal every joint and insulate any run that passes through unconditioned space, or it will sweat. Place the supply outlet so dry air sweeps across the canopy instead of blowing into a wall. Spread the return and supply far enough apart that dry air does not short-circuit straight back into the unit. This kit fits only the A320V1 and A320V3 cabinets, so confirm the model plate first. The honest trade-off is design time, because a poorly planned duct run costs more capacity than it saves. Plan it on paper, measure twice, then cut the plenum openings.
