Twelve Pots and a Pro Tank in the AutoPot 12 Pot Pro System

Twelve plants in three rows of four draw nutrient solution from one large, light-tight tank. That tank is a 60 gal FlexiTank Pro, close to 23 in across and 33.5 in tall when full. Its skin is reflective and blocks light, which suits bright, warm rooms. Concealed supports give it an anti-tip build, and capacity markings inside show the level while mixing. Food-grade materials and tool-free assembly round out the reservoir. On the growing side, each square pot holds 3.9 gal and sits in a grommeted 1Pot tray with a lid. An AQUAvalve5 in every tray fills it to about 1 in, then shuts off until the plant drinks it dry. So each plant gets its own wet and dry rhythm, set by its own uptake rather than a clock. Twelve Root Control Discs come with the kit, one per pot. The full layout covers about three square metres at AutoPot's spacing of four pots per square metre.

Running an Automatic Fertigation System Without a Pump

This automatic fertigation system needs nothing but height between the tank and the trays. Raise the FlexiTank Pro so its base is at least 6 in above the highest valve. A 1/2 in click-fit adaptor and filter connect it to 26 ft of 1/2 in pipe with two inline taps. One 1/2 in tee, four reducing tees and four reducing crosses step down to 19 ft of 3/8 in pipe. On a raised stand, mount the filter further along the 1/2 in pipe, not right at the tank. Mix nutrients straight into the tank using the internal markings to hit the volume. Aim for pH 5.8 in soil or 5.5 to 5.6 in coco. Pot up into a free-draining blend, around half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil. Water each transplant by hand, then wait about a week before opening the taps. Check the filter weekly and refill before the tank drops to a third. With mineral feeds, open the flush taps briefly once a week to clear residue.
