Sixteen Plants on the AutoPot 16 Pot System
A full grid of sixteen plants runs here from one reservoir, one filter and one pair of taps. Four rows of four trays share a single main line, and every tray has its own AQUAvalve5. Each valve has a 5 mm inlet and opens to fill its tray to about 1 in deep. Then it closes and waits until the plant has taken that solution up. Only an empty tray triggers the next fill, so overwatering is off the table. The fast, thirsty plants just cycle more often than the slow ones. Pots are square, 3.9 gal each, about 10.2 in across the rim and 11.8 in tall. AutoPot plans around four of these modules per square metre, so the full grid covers roughly 4 square metres of floor. Supply comes from a collapsible 60 gal FlexiTank that stands about 25 in wide when full. The tank collapses between runs and goes back together without tools.
Laying Out a Commercial Watering System for Sixteen Pots
A commercial watering system lives or dies on its plumbing, and this kit keeps it simple. The FlexiTank outlet takes a 1/2 in click-fit tank adaptor with a built-in filter. 26 ft of 1/2 in pipe forms the trunk, passing two inline taps and one 1/2 in tee. Eight 1/2 to 3/8 in crosses branch off that trunk into four rows. A matching length of 3/8 in pipe connects each valve to its cross. Lift the tank so its base sits at least 6 in above the highest valve, and level the trays on a bench or boards. Fill the pots with an open, free-draining mix, about half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil. Hand-water the transplants, let them drain, then keep the taps closed for a week or so while roots move down. Once the system is running, clean the filter as needed after a weekly look. Refill the FlexiTank when it falls to about a third, and never let it empty. That routine keeps sixteen valves cycling on their own.
Key Features

- 1/2 in trunk line: 26 ft of 1/2 in pipe from a click-fit tank adaptor and filter.
- 26 ft of 3/8 in pipe: Short feeds run from each cross to each AQUAvalve5.
