Why a Gravity Fed System Has Nothing to Fail
There is no pump, no timer and no power lead, which removes the three things that usually strand a room over a long weekend. Stand the tank at least 150 mm above the AQUAvalve, about six inches, and the head of water does the rest. The valve floods the tray, waits while the plant draws it down, then refills. Let the plant establish for 7 to 12 days before you open the tap. Top up at roughly one third remaining and never run it dry. Give it 30 to 60 minutes with the tap shut afterwards, so sediment settles instead of travelling. How long a fill lasts is down to the plant rather than the tank. A seedling will sit on this for weeks, and a plant in heavy flower will not.
