Thirty-six plants make this the kit for a whole room or a greenhouse bench run. The pots sit in six rows of six, each in a grommeted 1Pot tray with a lid and a Root Control Disc. Every square pot holds 3.9 gal of mix, about 10.2 in across the rim. Feed comes from a 105 gal FlexiTank, a collapsible reservoir that stands roughly 26.8 in wide when full. Inside each tray, an AQUAvalve5 fills to about 1 in deep and then closes. That valve stays shut until its own plant has drunk the tray dry. Wet and dry phases alternate at the pace of each plant, not a timer. A runt at the end of a row never sits waterlogged while its neighbours race ahead. With AutoPot's spacing of four modules per square metre, the grid covers about 9 square metres. Boxed, the full kit comes in near 110 lb, most of it trays and pots.

Running an Automated Gardening System at 36 Plants

An automated gardening system this long needs a strong trunk and a way to isolate sections. The tank outlet takes a 1/2 in click-fit adaptor and filter, then 49 ft of 1/2 in pipe carries the feed. A 1/2 in cross splits that trunk, and three inline taps let one branch close while the rest keep running. Eighteen 1/2 to 3/8 in crosses hand off to 59 ft of 3/8 in pipe for the final tray links. Raise the tank base at least 6 in above the highest valve and keep every tray level. Benches or boards work better than cold concrete under the trays. Use an airy mix, about half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil, for every pot. Water transplants in by hand once, then give roots a week or more before opening the taps. Check the filter each week and refill before the tank drops to a third. Never let the reservoir run dry, so every tray stays on its own cycle. With mineral feeds, a short weekly flush through the taps keeps residue out of the trays.
