Thirty-Six Pots on the AutoPot 36 Pot Pro System

Six rows of six trays give this kit room for a full bench run or an entire grow room. Every tray carries a square 3.9 gal pot, a grommeted lid and a Root Control Disc. In the floor of each tray, an AQUAvalve5 admits solution to about 1 in deep. It then holds shut until that one plant has drawn the tray dry. Thirsty plants refill often and slow ones wait, so no pot sits waterlogged. All of it runs from a 105 gal FlexiTank Pro, roughly 29 in across and 41.3 in tall once filled. The reflective, light-tight skin keeps light away from the stored nutrient solution. Concealed supports and an anti-tip design hold that weight of liquid upright. Capacity markings inside the tank show how much solution is left at a glance. Planted at four pots per square metre, the grid fills about 9 square metres.

Setting Up a Self-Watering Pot System in Three Sections

A self-watering pot system this large works best when sections can be shut off one at a time. A 1/2 in click-fit adaptor and filter connect the tank to 49 ft of 1/2 in trunk pipe. A 1/2 in cross divides that trunk, and three inline taps let each branch close on its own. Eighteen 1/2 to 3/8 in crosses feed 59 ft of 3/8 in pipe out to the trays. Lift the tank so its base sits at least 6 in above the highest valve. On a raised stand, put the filter a little way down the 1/2 in pipe rather than at the tank outlet. The FlexiTank Pro is food-grade, goes together in minutes and collapses again after harvest. Pot up with a light, free-draining blend, about half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil. Water each plant in by hand, then hold the taps closed for about a week. After that, check the filter weekly and refill when a third of the solution remains. Keep the solution between 64 and 70 F for the best oxygen levels at the roots.
