Eight Pots and a Pro Tank on the AutoPot 8 Pot System

Eight plants in two rows of four share one reservoir and one short, filtered main line. Each square pot holds 3.9 gal of mix and sits in a grommeted 1Pot tray with a lid. An AQUAvalve5 in every tray fills it to about 1 in deep, then shuts off. It stays closed until that plant has used the solution, so each root zone gets a real dry spell. No pump, timer or outlet is needed, because gravity from the tank does all the pushing. The reservoir is a 25 gal FlexiTank Pro, roughly 19 in across and 27.5 in tall when filled. Its skin is reflective and light-tight, which keeps sunlight and grow light out of the nutrient solution. Concealed supports and an anti-tip build keep it standing when full. Capacity lines printed inside the tank make mixing a fresh batch quick and accurate. AutoPot lists this layout as a fit for a 4 x 8 ft tent.

Setting Up the FlexiTank Pro Reservoir and Lines

The FlexiTank Pro reservoir assembles in minutes, collapses for storage and is made from food-grade materials. Stand it so the tank base sits at least 6 in above the highest valve. A 1/2 in click-fit tank filter connects the outlet to 13 ft of 1/2 in pipe. One inline tap on that main line shuts the feed for refills or filter checks. Four 1/2 to 3/8 in crosses branch off to the trays through 13 ft of 3/8 in pipe. On a raised stand, place the filter further along the 1/2 in pipe rather than tight to the tank. Fill the pots with a light mix, roughly half perlite or pH-stable clay pebbles with coco or soil. Hand-water the transplants, then let roots establish for about a week before the tap opens. Refill the tank when about a third of the solution is left. Never let it run empty. Check the filter weekly and clean it whenever debris shows.
