Inside the AutoPot 9 Pot System Kit
Nine plants share one tank here, yet each one drinks on its own timetable. Every pot sits in a grommeted 1Pot tray with a lid, and an AQUAvalve5 clips into the floor of each tray. The valve admits solution until the tray holds roughly 1 in of liquid, then a float seals the inlet. It stays shut until the plant has drawn the tray dry. That dry spell lets air back into the lower root zone before the next fill. Feeding is reservoir-driven, so there is no timer to set and no pump to fail. The kit carries a 25 gal FlexiTank, a collapsible reservoir that packs down when the room is empty. Filled, it stands about 17 in across and 29.5 in tall. Each of the nine square pots holds 3.9 gal of mix. Each pot is about 10.2 in wide at the rim and 11.8 in tall, sized for a single plant through flower. Pots and trays slide apart as canopies spread, so spacing can grow with the crop.
Plumbing an AutoPot Watering System for Nine Pots
An AutoPot watering system lives or dies on clean flow and a little elevation. This one starts with a 1/2 in click-fit tank adaptor and filter on the FlexiTank outlet. From there, 19 ft of 1/2 in pipe carries solution past two inline taps and a 1/2 in tee. Three 1/2 to 3/8 in tees and three 1/2 to 3/8 in crosses step the flow down into 3/8 in branch lines. That layout splits the trays into three rows of three. Raise the base of the tank at least 6 in above the highest valve so every tray fills. On a raised stand, mount the filter further along the 1/2 in line rather than right at the tank. Pot up into a free-draining mix, roughly half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil. Hand-water the transplants once, then leave the taps closed until the pots feel light. Rinse the filter whenever the weekly check shows debris, and refill before the tank falls to a third. Once the taps open, the valves handle every feed from there.
Key Features
- Nine pot sites: Nine 3.9 gal square pots with nine grommeted trays, lids and Root Control Discs.
- 25 gal FlexiTank: Collapsible reservoir that stands about 17 x 29.5 in when full.
- 1/2 in main line: Click-fit tank adaptor and filter feed a 19 ft run of 1/2 in pipe.
- Three branch rows: Reducing tees and crosses split the flow into three 3/8 in rows of trays.
- Two inline taps: Shut the feed for refills, maintenance or a plain-water flush.
- Gravity-fed AQUAvalve5: Each valve refills its tray only after the plant has drunk it down.
