Nine Plants on the AutoPot 9 Pot Pro System
Nine plants in a three by three block draw from one tank through one filtered line. Each square pot holds 3.9 gal of mix and rests in a grommeted 1Pot tray with a lid and a Root Control Disc. The AQUAvalve5 inside every tray lets solution in to about 1 in deep, then closes. That tray stays dry until its plant has drunk the last fill, which pulls air back into the lower roots. No two plants share a schedule, so a vigorous plant cycles faster without drowning a slower one. The reservoir is a 25 gal FlexiTank Pro, about 19 in across and 27.5 in high once full. Concealed supports give the filled tank an anti-tip stance. Internal capacity markings show exactly how much solution is left before a refill. The tank is made from food-grade materials and goes together in a few minutes. Between runs it collapses down for storage.
Why a Light-Tight Reservoir Matters on the Feed Side
A light-tight reservoir keeps light from reaching the solution, and the Pro skin is reflective as well. AutoPot rates it for bright, high-temperature spots in the grow space. Set the base at least 6 in above the highest valve so every tray fills. A 1/2 in click-fit tank adaptor and filter feed 19 ft of 1/2 in pipe with two inline taps. A 1/2 in tee, three reducing tees and three reducing crosses then drop the feed into 3/8 in pipe for the trays. When the tank stands on a riser, fit the filter further down the 1/2 in pipe, away from the tank outlet. Pot up into a loose mix, around half perlite or clay pebbles with coco or soil. Water the starts in by hand and wait about a week before opening the taps. From there, check the filter weekly and refill when a third of the solution remains. Keep the solution between 64 and 70 F, since warmer water holds less oxygen. Then the valves run the feed on their own.
