Easy2grow 24 Pot System: Two Dozen Plants on One Gravity Feed

Water flows by gravity through 26 feet of half-inch supply line split into two runs. Twelve 2Pot trays each carry two 2.2-gallon pots and one AQUAvalve5 valve. When a tray empties, the valve lets water in until it reaches a shallow depth, then shuts. The plants drink that down, the medium begins to dry, and the valve opens again. That cycle keeps roots from sitting in water continuously while still feeding on demand. The kit includes a click-fit tank filter, two inline taps, a tee, six cross connectors, 20 feet of 3/8-inch line, root control squares and pot socks. AutoPot lists the boxed kit at about 61 lbs. Running an Auto Pot System Across a Full Room

An auto pot system of this size needs a level floor and a reservoir at or slightly above tray height. Lay the two supply runs out first, then set the trays so each valve connects with a short, straight feed line. Saturate every pot from the top on day one to link the medium to the tray. After that, the valves take over. A drainage layer of clay pebbles or perlite helps. AutoPot also sells AirBases for growers who skip the layer, and AirDomes for heavy blends. The 60-gallon tank lasts longer between refills, but plants drinking hard in late flower can still empty it in a few days. Check the tank filter and a sample of valves every cycle, since debris is a common cause of a stuck valve. Mix the feed at moderate strength, because the plants take it in steadily rather than in large doses.
