What an AutoPot 1Pot XL Module Adds
A 6.6 gallon pot with the XL tray and lid under it, one AQUAvalve and a round root control disc. There is also a length of pipe and two tees, for cutting into a line that already runs. There is no tank in the box. The extra volume over the standard 3.9 gallon pot is the whole point of the XL. It lets a plant carry a larger root mass through flower without the medium drying between fills.
Adding a Pot to an AutoPot XL System
Gravity does the work, so the reservoir sits at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve, roughly six inches. The valve floods the tray, waits for the plant to draw it down, and refills, giving roots the wet and dry swing they want. This pot size wants longer to settle in. Leave the plant 10 to 14 days before opening the tap, where the smaller pot only needs a week or so. Refill the tank at about one third remaining and never let it empty. Keep the tap shut for 30 to 60 minutes afterwards, so sediment drops out. Check your pipe before adding a module. An AQUAvalve4 line runs 1/4 in and an AQUAvalve5 line runs 3/8 in, and the two do not connect.
