BioWorks EpiShield O Miticide Works on Contact, Not Systemically
EpiShield O is the bottle you reach for when mites show up and the crop is days from cutting. It runs on peppermint oil at 15% and clove oil at 10%, with the remaining 75% inert. Contact does the work here, paralyzing, smothering and drying out soft-bodied pests rather than poisoning them. REI is zero hours and PHI is zero days, so nobody is locked out of the room waiting on an interval.
Rates and Timing for an Essential Oil Miticide and Insecticide
Foliar runs 9 fl oz per 100 gallons, moving to 12 under heavy pressure, on a five to seven day interval. Cuttings take a dip at 2.7 mL per gallon. Cover both leaf surfaces until wet without runoff, since nothing systemic carries it past where you spray. Two label limits are worth reading before you build a rotation around it. It controls mites and aphids, but only suppresses thrips, whiteflies and mealybugs. It also will not tank mix with another oil-carried product, so spot test a few plants first.

Key Features
- Peppermint 15%, Clove 10%: The two actives work on contact, with the remaining 75% inert carrying them across the leaf.
- 0-Hour REI, 0-Day PHI: Crews re-enter as soon as the spray settles, and it stays usable on the day you harvest.
- 9 to 12 fl oz per 100 Gallons: Roughly a tenth the volume of conventional horticultural oils, which is where the lower burn risk comes from.
- OMRI Listed: Cleared for certified organic production across greenhouse, shadehouse, interiorscape and nursery sites.
- Control Versus Suppression: The label separates them: mites and aphids are control, thrips, whiteflies and mealybugs are suppression.
