Black and White Poly Cut for a Single Room

A 100 ft roll is more film than a tent or a spare bedroom will ever use. This is the same 5.5 mil material in a 25 ft length, folded rather than rolled. Laid out it opens to 10 ft wide, which reaches floor to ceiling in most rooms with material to spare. The white face is rated over 90% reflective and goes against the growing space. Its black face blocks light through the sheet. Because the sheet is waterproof, it also protects the wall behind from splash and condensation. Nothing structural changes when you put it up. Staples, tape or clips hold it, and it comes down without taking paint with it. That makes it workable in a rented room. Folded, it also fits in a car rather than needing a truck.

Fitting It as a Grow Room Wall Covering

Plan the cuts before the first staple goes in. Measure each wall, then add a hand's width for overlap at every seam. Cut on a clean floor with a straight edge, because a wavy cut shows up as a shadow line later. Hang the sheet from the top and work down, smoothing as you go. Overlap the seams and tape them so light cannot find a path through. Keep the material off hot surfaces and leave air space behind fixtures. Dust the white surface between runs to hold reflectivity. When a panel goes brittle at the fastener line, replace that panel instead of patching it. A room lined this way usually lasts several seasons.
