Two probes, two sets of tools, and they are not interchangeable. The pH Probe Cleaner pairs with a toothbrush, because a pH bulb wants bristles that can reach the glass and the junction. The Conductivity Probe Cleaner pairs with a chamois, because an EC electrode face wants wiping rather than scrubbing. Eight 20 mL single-use sachets come with them, two each of pH 7.0, pH 4.0, KCl storage and 2.77 EC. That is a full two point pH calibration with a spare, a storage top-up, and two conductivity checks. Three plastic cups keep the fluids apart, which is the whole reason they are in the box.
What the Bluelab pH Probe Cleaner Actually Removes
Cadence is where growers go wrong, in both directions. Bluelab asks for a two point pH calibration once a month, and more often under heavy use, continuous monitoring or organic nutrients. Conductivity works differently, because those probes drift very little and calibration stays optional there. So the monthly job is pH and the constant job is cleaning. Storage is the other half. A pH probe has to stay wet, which is what the KCl sachets are for, and that solution wants refreshing weekly. A probe left to dry out is not finished. It needs rehydrating and a fresh two point calibration before its readings mean anything again. Keep the kit cool and dark with the lids tight.
