A 96 in rack level holds a lot of plants, and every one of them needs its runoff carried away. This tray, part number HGC707360, covers one full 4 x 8 ft level in a single piece. It measures 96.0 x 48.0 in and stands 3.5 in tall. A built-in 1.5 in offset under the floor sets the slope, so water runs toward the drain area on its own. The planting surface on top stays level, which keeps pots, flats and plug trays sitting flat. Wide, smooth grooves run across the floor and carry water to a recessed drain pocket about 3.6 in deep. That pocket takes a hose or drain fitting that runs to a gutter, bucket or return line. The tray is heavy-duty ABS with a virgin ABS cap, finished in white. Running a 4x8 Grow Tray on a Mobile Rack

Level each pair of beams with a spirit level before the tray goes on, because the offset already provides the fall. Place the drain end where the hose can drop straight to the catch line. Rest the tray fully on both beams along its length before loading it. Lift with two people, one at each end, to keep the tray from bending. Connect the drain before the first irrigation and run a water test across the full length. Watch the far corners in particular, since they are the last part of the tray to empty after a feed. On rolling carriages, leave slack in the drain line so the aisle can open and close freely. Keep containers clear of the drain pocket so nothing blocks the outflow. Rinse debris out of the grooves between crops, then scrub, rinse and disinfect. The white surface makes salt residue, algae film and stray debris easy to spot during cleaning.
