Botanicare 4x4 Tray, OD Black | 48 x 48 in Outside, Fits a 4x4 Tent, 50 gal

How the Botanicare 4x4 Tray Fits Where Space Is Fixed

OD means outside dimension, and this tray measures 48 by 48 by 6 in from rim to rim. That outside size matches the floor of a standard 4 by 4 ft grow tent, so the tray sets down flat with no flexing or trimming. The inside floor measures 45.5 by 45.5 in with a depth of 5.875 in. Filled to the rim it holds 50 gallons. A diagonal drainage grid molded into the floor directs water toward the drain fittings. The shell is black ABS built on a core of 90 percent recycled plastic under a virgin, UV-resistant cap. Black keeps light off standing solution, which slows algae. Botanicare produces the tray in the USA with renewable solar energy. The tray carries Botanicare part number 707345.

Setting Up a 4x4 Grow Tent Tray

A 4x4 grow tent tray turns the tent floor into a catch basin, so runoff and spills never reach the fabric. Level the floor under the tent first, then add a very slight pitch toward the side where the drain will exit. Most tents have a low port or flap that a drain hose can pass through. Fit the drain fitting before loading pots, while the floor is still easy to reach. The sidewall gives enough depth for a shallow flood around pots as well as plain runoff collection. When the tray sits on a bench instead, support the full underside so the floor never sags. Arrange pots on the grid so they do not block the drain channels. Pump or drain the tray after every feed so solution does not sit under the canopy and raise humidity. Scrub the grid and rinse it between crops to clear salt and root debris. The outside fit gives up a little inside floor, so plan pot spacing on the inside measurement.
