Botanicare 70 Gallon Reservoir Lid, White | 53.25 x 35.25 in, Access Port

What the Botanicare 70 Gallon Reservoir Lid Covers

This lid is the matching top for the Botanicare 70 gallon premium reservoir. It measures 53.25 by 35.25 by 1.875 in and weighs about 9 lb. The shell is a 70 percent recycled ABS core wrapped in a virgin, UV-resistant ABS cap. The material is BPA free and recyclable, and the lid is made in the USA. A molded access opening lets a grower check level, drop in a probe or add water without lifting the whole lid. The porthole cover for that opening is a separate part. Covering the tank keeps light off the nutrient solution, which slows algae and keeps debris out. The white finish also reflects heat from lights overhead. Botanicare lists the lid as part HGC707215, and the UPC is 757900200008.

Getting the Most From a Hydroponic Reservoir Lid

A hydroponic reservoir lid pays for itself in cleaner water and fewer surprises. Seat it fully on the rim so light cannot leak in around the edges. Use the access opening for daily readings and small top-offs, and lift the full lid only for cleaning. Add the porthole cover if the tank sits under bright light or in a dusty room. Route pump cords and return lines through the reservoir's bulkhead ports rather than under the lid edge. Pinched cords stop the lid from sealing and wear through over time. Lift and carry the lid by the long sides to keep stress off the corners. Stand it on edge or lay it flat on a clean surface while the tank is being cleaned. Wipe it down with the same mild cleaner used on the reservoir between crops. The lid is sized for the Botanicare 70 gallon tank, so measure any other tank before counting on a fit.
