Boveda 8g 62% Humidity Control Packs Hold One Ounce Steady

A 62% RH pack sized to one ounce, moving moisture both directions until a sealed container settles and stays there. The fill is food-grade salt, purified water and a thickening agent behind a reverse-osmosis membrane, so only pure water vapor crosses. That is Boveda's chemistry, and it is not the same as Integra's salt-free glycerin blend. Both hold a setpoint; they get there differently. Nothing here needs soaking or charging, and it works the moment the bag opens. The membrane keeps the salt solution on its own side, which is why the pack is safe resting directly against contents. Accuracy holds at ±2% of the labeled figure in a container that is genuinely airtight.

The CVault Replacement Humidity Pack for Personal Sizes

At 2.75" x 2.5" it drops straight into the lid holder on small, medium, large and x-large CVaults. Give it 24 to 48 hours in a sealed vault before judging the result, because the pack is working long before the contents read right. In a humidor rather than a sealed vault, expect actual RH to settle up to five points below the labeled figure. A humidor leaks by design. Adding more packs does not close that gap. You will feel the pack turn granular and then hard when it is spent, which is the only signal you need. There is no card and no dot on this one. Replacement runs on roughly a three-month cycle, and unopened packs keep two years in the bag. The same 8 g pack is stocked by the case for anyone running more than a few containers.

Key Features

  • 62% Two-Way Control: Adds moisture to a container that has dried out and pulls it back when the lid comes off.
  • Protects 1 oz (28 g): Sized so the pack has capacity in hand rather than running at its limit.
  • Pure Water Vapor Only: A reverse-osmosis membrane means nothing but water crosses into your material.
  • Food-Grade Fill: Salt, purified water and a food-grade thickener, safe resting directly against contents.
  • No Activation Required: Active on arrival, so there is no soaking, charging or maintenance step.
  • 2.75" x 2.5" Footprint: Seats in a lid pak holder without taking volume that would otherwise hold product.
  • Tactile Replacement Signal: The pack turns granular then solid when spent, so no indicator card is needed.
  • 2 Year Shelf Life: Sealed stock keeps, so holding stock ahead does not mean losing packs to age.

How Long Does a Boveda 8g Pack Last?

Two to four months in a sealed container, with a three-month replacement cycle as the working rule. Frequent opening pulls it toward the short end.

Which CVault Sizes Take the 8g Boveda?

The 8 g is the replacement pack for the small, medium, large and x-large personal CVaults. Liter sizes step up to 67 g or 320 g.

Should You Use 58% or 62% RH?

62% holds more moisture and suits material going into storage at a finished cure. 58% runs drier for longer holds or denser flower.

How Do You Know When a Boveda Is Spent?

Squeeze it. A fresh pack feels like a gel pillow; a spent one feels granular and eventually solid. That hardening is the replacement signal.
