SolarSystem 1100 Refurbished: What You Get in the Box

Spectrum comes from three channels: red and deep red, natural white, and blue and deep blue. Each channel dims independently, so one fixture can lean blue in veg and red in flower. The housing is 18 x 18 x 4 in with fan-assisted active cooling and a 0–107°F operating range. Veg coverage runs up to 8 x 8 ft. Output depends on which production run your unit came from, and that is worth knowing before you plan a room. Earlier units were listed at 1,284 µmol/s and 1.61 µmol/J, with a 4 x 4 ft bloom footprint. California LightWorks' current page rates new production at 2.51 µmol/J with 5 x 5 ft bloom coverage. Factory refurbished units are sold with a full 5-year warranty, and the fixture is UL certified.

Buying a Refurbished LED Grow Light That Still Gets Support

A refurbished led grow light only makes sense when the maker still stands behind it, and this one does. The warranty term matches a new fixture, so a failed fan or channel gets repaired rather than written off. That makes it a practical way to add a second room or replace an aging HID without paying new-fixture money. Check the label on arrival to see which production run you received, and plan canopy size from that figure. Earlier-run units flower a smaller footprint well but are less efficient per watt than current production. The optional SolarSystem Controller adds minute-by-minute schedules, sunrise ramps and group control over many fixtures. Without it, the light runs its default spectrum and works on an ordinary timer. Hang it higher in veg to spread light across the wider footprint, then lower it as flowers set. The fans make a light hum, which matters more in a bedroom tent than in a garage. If you need the latest efficiency, the new SolarSystem 1100 is the better choice.
